Episode 12 of Utena really struck me. From Touga undercutting Utena until she felt forced into the normal uniform instead of choosing to be herself, to an unseen fangirl saying Utena looked ‘even better now’ though she was unhappy.
If you follow society’s expectation, you’ll be better approved. Your desires surely does not matter in comparison.
Utena is an amazing anime.
Also, shout out to Karma who helped me with the idea of the background. I probably would have gone for just basic color. GIRL YOU AND YOUR CREATIVITY.
Warning: This is probably the cutest thing anyone has ever seen.
he’s so happy!
Oh my god. He’s so amazed and happy and adorable and omg.
for those of you with trauma being more than isolated incidents, and who are surviving child abuse, or abusive homes, CPTSD may be closer to how your anxieties work.
Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a different from ptsd in that that is usually associated with isolated incidents and/or trauma.
With cases like chronic child abuse, or several abusers, or constant trauma in different forms, the panic-response is similar to those with PTSD, but the events related to it are so complex and intertwined that triggers aren’t directly linked, and you have to untangle the mental processes to understand why panicked or anxious behavior is a response.
Thank you. I seriously thought I was the only one who took CPTSD seriously. I have it but it’s not even something psychiatrists are willing to diagnose and it’s not in the DSM. Any resources you know of for self help, self care, and treating CPTSD?
I just thought it was just widely unknown of, it makes perfect sense for people in chronic abuse situations, I don’t know why it’s not more out there, I guess people who don’t live it don’t understand it yet?
BUT, I will crank out the books I have been reading this year and see where they mentioned CPTSD and get back to you asap *raids bookshelves*
The tinier the cuter!
Just a reminder: for those of you who live in urban areas where the weather is getting at or below freezing, and there is a homeless population sleeping out-of-doors in inclement weather, these work great to keep people warm in emergency weather situations and i recommend handing them out to those in need.
Each Sol or Space brand emergency blanket costs about $2 - $4 each and can be found at Army Navy Surplus and Sporting & Camping Goods stores. I would suggest giving 2-3 to each person as though they are re-usable, they aren’t meant to last long periods of time.
Since they are uber lightweight they can be carried around in your purse, messenger bag or backpack as you walk/bus/bike around the city.
Given it is also the holidays, if you can afford to, add a few hand and toe warmers - you can get a Grabber brand “Big Pack” (8 pairs) for around $10.
We’re all in this together.
